Choose Your Cover Fabric

7 oz. Polyester — Our entry-level marine cover fabric, woven from 100% polyester fiber at a 7 oz. per linear yard weight. This lighter option keeps the cover manageable for solo handling while still delivering reliable protection against sun, rain, and debris. Backed by a 3-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black.

9 oz. Polyester — Step up to our heavy-duty polyester, engineered at 9 oz. per linear yard for boats that face tougher conditions or extended outdoor storage. The denser weave adds an extra layer of defense against abrasion and weather without adding unnecessary bulk. Protected by a 5-year fabric warranty. Ships in Navy or Black.

Sunbrella® — For boaters who want the best, our Sunbrella covers use 100% solution-dyed acrylic — the same fabric trusted by marine professionals worldwide. Naturally resistant to fading, mold, and water damage, Sunbrella holds its color and integrity season after season. Covered by a 6-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black, Smoke, or Marine Blue.

Both polyester options feature solution-dyed construction, where pigment is infused into each fiber during production rather than applied to the surface afterward. This process locks color deep into the material, preventing any dye transfer to your boat’s gel coat or finish. The result is a cover that stays vibrant without bleeding or rubbing off. Our polyester is also designed to breathe — it allows moisture trapped underneath to vent out naturally, reducing the risk of mildew and keeping your boat dry. The fabric holds its form without sagging or stretching over time, stays lightweight enough for one person to handle, and stands up to prolonged UV exposure and harsh marine weather.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Skull Island 16 center console cover is available in 9oz solution-dyed marine fabric or premium Sunbrella acrylic. The 9oz option provides 5 to 7 years of UV and weather protection. Sunbrella acrylic extends that to 8 to 10 years with enhanced fade resistance. Both fabrics are water-repellent, mildew-resistant, and breathable.
Yes. The cover drapes over the entire Skull Island 16, creating a tent-like shape that peaks at the center console and slopes down to the gunwales on all sides. The outboard engine is fully enclosed inside the cover, and the fabric conforms to the boat's compact 5-foot beam.
Drape the cover over the bow and walk it back over the center console to the stern. The fabric naturally forms a tent-like peak at the console. Secure it with adjustable tie-down straps and a hem cord at the rubrail. One person can complete installation in under 5 minutes.
Yes. The cover is reinforced with double-stitched seams and heavy-duty straps designed for highway trailering speeds. The cover wraps completely over the hull and outboard engine. At just 400 pounds, the Skull Island 16 is one of the easiest boats to trailer with the cover secured.
Yes. The tent-like design provides complete coverage of all console-mounted electronics, switches, and the outboard engine. The water-repellent fabric blocks UV rays, rain, salt spray, and road debris during trailering.
Every Skull Island 16 center console cover includes a 2-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The solution-dyed fabric is rated for 5 to 7 years, and Sunbrella acrylic is rated for 8 to 10 years of service.

It is intentionally breathable rather than fully waterproof, which prevents trapped moisture and mildew from forming underneath — important for protecting the Skull Island 16's lightweight composite construction.
This cover is custom-fitted to the Skull Island 16 with standard production dimensions. It fits all model years sharing the factory center console configuration and 5-foot beam. If your specific year has significant hull or console changes, contact us to confirm fitment.

Skull Island 16 Center Console Cover — Tactical Micro-Skiff Protection

The Skull Island 16 is a 16’2″ tactical flats skiff built with aerospace-grade materials by Chris Ivey and Scott Crippen out of Palm Beach County, Florida. Founded around 2012, Skull Island Boats uses Kevlar cloth and ultra-lightweight composite construction to produce one of the most specialized micro-skiffs on the water. At just 400 pounds with a 5-foot beam and a maximum of 30 horsepower, this boat is engineered for stealth poling across the shallowest flats. A 5-inch draft and 12-gallon fuel capacity keep things minimal and purposeful. Whether you run a Skull Island or browse the full lineup of T-Top boat covers and center console options, protecting a boat this precisely built starts with a cover that matches its exacting standards.

Tailored to the Skull Island 16’s Minimalist Deck

This cover is pattern-cut to the Skull Island 16’s compact 16’2″ hull and 5-foot beam. The solution-dyed marine fabric drapes over the entire boat, creating a tent-like shape that peaks at the center console and slopes down to the gunwales on all sides. The outboard engine is fully enclosed inside the cover. Installation is straightforward — drape the cover from bow to stern, settle it over the console, and secure it with adjustable tie-down straps and a hem cord at the rubrail. One person handles the job in under five minutes with no framework or poles needed. The lightweight hull and narrow beam make trailering with the cover installed effortless at highway speeds. Owners of similar technical poling skiffs will find the same precision fit in the Biscayne 17 center console cover, which protects another handcrafted flats hull built for shallow-water performance.

Protection That Matches Skull Island Quality

Skull Island builds skiffs with aerospace-grade materials and Kevlar reinforcement — your cover should reflect that same attention to detail. The 9oz solution-dyed marine fabric delivers 5 to 7 years of UV protection and weather resistance, while premium Sunbrella acrylic extends coverage to 8 to 10 years with superior fade resistance. Both options are water-repellent, mildew-resistant, and breathable to prevent trapped moisture beneath the cover. Double-stitched seams and reinforced stress points handle repeated installation and trailering without wearing down. Every cover ships with a 2-year manufacturer warranty. For another precision-built flats skiff cover, the East Cape 17 Caimen cover offers the same custom-fitted protection for a boat that shares the Skull Island’s shallow-water DNA.
