1. What are the benefits of purchasing a boat cover from Perfect Fit?

Our high-quality covers shield your upholstery, electronics, and interior from the elements. They install quickly and easily and need very little maintenance, which cuts down on cleaning time and helps your boat last longer.

2. Where should I place the zipper?

Pick the spot that best fits how you store your boat and what is easiest for you to reach. If your boat sits on a lift, go with the most accessible side; if it has a ladder, the same side as the ladder usually works best. Take your storage surroundings into account too. When nothing else dictates it, we generally suggest the port side for convenience.

3. When will my order arrive?

Reach out to our team for current lead times and updates on your order — our goal is always to get your cover to you as fast as possible.

4. Does the cover work if the boat is stored in the water?

We do not recommend our covers for in-water storage: they have no openings for dock lines and can become saturated. They are made for trailer, lift, dry-stack, or jet-dock storage. Do not leave a cover sitting in the water — saturation can break down the fabric and void the warranty.

5. What product should I use for in-water storage?

Our Center Console Curtain is built for that. It protects the key parts of your boat during in-water storage, including electronics, seating upholstery, and anything you leave in the center console.

6. What payment methods are accepted?

7. What size is the draw rope used for tying off the covers?

A 3/8" nylon rope.

8. How do I keep my cover secure in windy conditions?

For lift, dry-stack, or jet-dock storage, use sandbags of 6 lbs or more; for trailer storage, use tie-down straps.

9. How should I clean my boat cover or shade?

Start by brushing off loose dirt, then hose the cover down. Mix a mild soap — such as Woolite or Dawn dishwashing liquid — with water, and scrub gently with a soft-bristle brush. Rinse until no soap remains. Shades can be hand-washed or run through a machine on a gentle, cold-water cycle. Steer clear of bleach and fabric softener so the fabric keeps its quality.

10. Can I operate my boat with the shade installed?

You can run up to 30 knots with the aft shade in place, but not with the bow shade — it can severely limit visibility and create a serious safety hazard.

11. Can I tow my boat with the cover on?

No — our covers are not made for towing, and towing with one on will void the warranty.

12. Is the boat shade waterproof?

The shades are water-resistant — water beads off — but not fully waterproof. To help water run off, lower the telescoping poles so the shade sits at a slant.
