7 oz. Polyester — Our entry-level marine cover fabric, woven from 100% polyester fiber at a 7 oz. per linear yard weight. This lighter option keeps the cover manageable for solo handling while still delivering reliable protection against sun, rain, and debris. Backed by a 3-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black.
9 oz. Polyester — Step up to our heavy-duty polyester, engineered at 9 oz. per linear yard for boats that face tougher conditions or extended outdoor storage. The denser weave adds an extra layer of defense against abrasion and weather without adding unnecessary bulk. Protected by a 5-year fabric warranty. Ships in Navy or Black.
Sunbrella® — For boaters who want the best, our Sunbrella covers use 100% solution-dyed acrylic — the same fabric trusted by marine professionals worldwide. Naturally resistant to fading, mold, and water damage, Sunbrella holds its color and integrity season after season. Covered by a 6-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black, Smoke, or Marine Blue.
Both polyester options feature solution-dyed construction, where pigment is infused into each fiber during production rather than applied to the surface afterward. This process locks color deep into the material, preventing any dye transfer to your boat’s gel coat or finish. The result is a cover that stays vibrant without bleeding or rubbing off. Our polyester is also designed to breathe — it allows moisture trapped underneath to vent out naturally, reducing the risk of mildew and keeping your boat dry. The fabric holds its form without sagging or stretching over time, stays lightweight enough for one person to handle, and stands up to prolonged UV exposure and harsh marine weather.
*The warranty periods above are provided by the fabric manufacturer and cover the material itself. For details on what’s included in the warranty for your completed cover, please see our warranty page.

Frequently Asked Questions
The 285 is a more heavily equipped version of the 28-foot platform — additional built-in storage, heavier-duty rigging station, upgraded livewells, more robust console structure, and additional standard features that the 280 CC offers as options. The SPI construction handles the extra weight without performance compromise because the vacuum-infused hull is engineered with a higher strength-to-weight ratio than conventional fiberglass.
Our pattern is specifically cut for the 285's deck layout — which differs from the 280 CC in console shape, storage placement, and hardware positioning. The cover drapes over every feature including the upgraded rigging station, integrated tackle storage, and additional livewell systems. Every model gets its own pattern, never a generic fit.
The T-Top structures are similar since both ride on the 28-foot platform, but the 285 may have a different hardtop configuration depending on the options package. Our cover pattern accounts for the specific hardtop dimensions and mounting points of each model variant.
The 285's heavier build includes more robust fish storage, larger livewells, and a more complete rigging station — features that support extended trips where fish handling and bait management are critical. The 200-gallon fuel tank provides the same range as the 280 CC, but the additional storage and features make the 285 more self-sufficient for multi-day runs.
Outriggers mounted on top of the T-Top hardtop stay above the cover line and remain in place. For outrigger bases or rocket launcher mounts that sit below the hardtop, the cover wraps around them. If you have an unusual aftermarket outrigger setup, note it during ordering so we can accommodate it in the pattern.
The T-Top cover extends past the transom to envelop both engine cowlings as one continuous fabric piece. The engines create a natural contoured bulge under the fabric — no separate engine covers or boots. Lower units remain visible below the fabric edge. The dual-engine wrap distributes wind load evenly across the stern section.
For boats stored year-round in harsh saltwater environments — especially open-water marina slips in South Florida, the Gulf Coast, or the Outer Banks — Sunbrella acrylic's 8–10 year lifespan provides better long-term value. For seasonal boaters or those with covered lifts, standard solution-dyed fabric at 5–7 years is excellent protection at a lower price point.
The cover wraps the entire console including all helm electronics — GPS/chartplotter screens, VHF radios, fishfinder transducers, and wiring connections. UV damage to display screens and wiring insulation is one of the most expensive maintenance issues on modern fishing boats, and consistent cover use extends electronics life significantly.
Our cover ships with the correct tie-down system pre-sized for the 285's hull dimensions. Straps secure from the cover's hem cord at the rubrail down to the trailer frame, dock lift structure, or cleats. For marina slip storage, we include additional securing points to handle wind from changing directions.
The 318 jumps to a 31'10" platform with a wider 10'2" beam and 300-gallon fuel tank — a significant step up in size, range, and capability. The 285 is the largest of the 28-foot-class EdgeWaters, while the 318 enters true bluewater territory with nearly 50% more fuel capacity and a hull designed for rougher offshore conditions.
EdgeWater 285 T-Top Boat Cover
The EdgeWater 285 is the fully loaded flagship of the 28-foot platform — 8,650 lbs of SPI vacuum-infused, foam-filled, unsinkable hull packed with tournament-grade fishing features. Twin outboards push up to 600 HP through a deep-V hull with a 9’6” beam, while the 200-gallon fuel tank provides the range for extended offshore runs. Every surface is wood-free construction with PermaGrid fiberglass reinforcement and 316L stainless steel hardware. This is a boat built for anglers who want nothing left on the options list.
A Perfect Fit T-Top cover protects the 285’s full deck investment — upgraded livewells, integrated rigging station, tackle storage, in-floor fish boxes, helm electronics, and both outboard engines — in UV-resistant solution-dyed marine fabric. Patterned specifically for the 285’s deck layout and heavy-duty hardware, our cover maintains a clean, taut fit across every contour of this substantial fishing platform.
Tournament-Ready Protection
The 285 carries everything a serious angler needs for multi-day trips to deep-water structure — and all of it needs protection from UV, salt, and weather between runs. Our T-Top cover shields the entire investment while the hardtop remains exposed for ventilation. The dual-engine wrap protects both outboard cowlings and transom hardware from the corrosive salt spray that accelerates wear on unprotected powerheads. Explore our center console curtain enclosure for on-water weather protection, or compare the EdgeWater 318 T-Top cover for the next size up.
