Choose Your Cover Fabric

7 oz. Polyester — Our entry-level marine cover fabric, woven from 100% polyester fiber at a 7 oz. per linear yard weight. This lighter option keeps the cover manageable for solo handling while still delivering reliable protection against sun, rain, and debris. Backed by a 3-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black.

9 oz. Polyester — Step up to our heavy-duty polyester, engineered at 9 oz. per linear yard for boats that face tougher conditions or extended outdoor storage. The denser weave adds an extra layer of defense against abrasion and weather without adding unnecessary bulk. Protected by a 5-year fabric warranty. Ships in Navy or Black.

Sunbrella® — For boaters who want the best, our Sunbrella covers use 100% solution-dyed acrylic — the same fabric trusted by marine professionals worldwide. Naturally resistant to fading, mold, and water damage, Sunbrella holds its color and integrity season after season. Covered by a 6-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black, Smoke, or Marine Blue.

Both polyester options feature solution-dyed construction, where pigment is infused into each fiber during production rather than applied to the surface afterward. This process locks color deep into the material, preventing any dye transfer to your boat’s gel coat or finish. The result is a cover that stays vibrant without bleeding or rubbing off. Our polyester is also designed to breathe — it allows moisture trapped underneath to vent out naturally, reducing the risk of mildew and keeping your boat dry. The fabric holds its form without sagging or stretching over time, stays lightweight enough for one person to handle, and stands up to prolonged UV exposure and harsh marine weather.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 247 Advance (1997–2001) refined the original 247 Strike (1996) with an integrated outboard bracket design, improved swim platform with boarding ladder, and updated SeaV² hull features on later models. The bracket extends the outboard mounting aft of the transom, improving weight distribution and creating a built-in swim platform—a significant upgrade from the Strike's conventional transom-mount design.
The integrated bracket moves engine weight aft, improving bow trim and planing characteristics. It also creates a built-in swim platform with boarding ladder, adds transom space for fishing, and provides better engine access for maintenance. This design was ahead of its time—modern Grady White models incorporate similar bracket-transom integration.
They share the same hull dimensions (24'9" LOA, 8'6" beam) but represent distinct model years and configurations. Perfect Fit manufactures separate custom patterns for each because the bracket design, hardware positioning, and hull details differ between the 1996 Strike and 1997–2001 Advance versions. This ensures exact fit for your specific boat.
The 247 Advance's 151-gallon capacity still exceeds most modern 25-foot center consoles, which typically carry 90–120 gallons. This exceptional fuel capacity was a hallmark of the 247 design, enabling 300+ mile offshore range that remains competitive with boats built two decades later.
Most owners repower with a Yamaha F250 or F300 single four-stroke for optimal efficiency, or twin Yamaha F150s for offshore redundancy. The integrated bracket accommodates modern four-stroke outboards cleanly. With 151 gallons of fuel, modern four-stroke engines achieve significantly better range than the original two-stroke configurations.
Perfect Fit's cover extends past the transom to envelop the bracket-mounted engine(s) in a loose, draped pouch. The fabric wraps around the swim platform ladder and bracket structure, protecting hardware from UV and salt corrosion. The cover's hem cord and tie-downs account for the bracket's unique geometry.
The 247 Advance features a molded-in aft cockpit livewell positioned centrally for weight balance. The livewell includes raw-water circulation for keeping bait alive during offshore runs. Perfect Fit's cover accounts for livewell overflow and intake ports to ensure proper drainage.
Absolutely. The 20° deadrise hull was designed specifically for offshore performance—4–5 foot seas are handled confidently, and the 3,500-lb displacement provides stability at rest for drift fishing. The 247 Advance was marketed as an offshore tournament platform, and many still compete in coastal fishing tournaments today.
The 247 Advance features horizontal rod storage racks accommodating six outfits under the gunwales, plus multiple flush-mount rod holders around the cockpit perimeter. This layout keeps the 62 sq ft cockpit clear while maintaining easy access to rigged rods during fishing.
Yes. The Grady White construction quality means the hull, stringers, and structural components hold up exceptionally well. A restored 247 Advance with modern electronics, repowered engine(s), new upholstery, and a fresh Perfect Fit cover can deliver another 20+ years of offshore service at a fraction of new-boat cost.

Grady White 247 Advance T-Top Boat Cover

The Grady White 247 Advance is the refined version of Grady White’s legendary mid-size offshore center console, produced from 1997 to 2001. Distinguished by its integrated outboard bracket with swim platform and boarding ladder, the 247 Advance improved on the original 247 Strike with better weight distribution, enhanced transom access, and later-model SeaV² hull features. At 24’9″ LOA with an 8’6″ beam and 3,500 lbs dry weight, it accommodates single or twin outboards up to 300 HP and carries 151 gallons of fuel for 300+ miles of offshore range—capacity that still exceeds most modern 25-foot boats.

Your 247 Advance deserves a Perfect Fit custom T-Top cover that protects the integrated bracket, swim platform hardware, fishbox insulation, and livewell plumbing from decades of UV exposure, salt spray, and weather. Our cover wraps the full hull below the hardtop and extends aft to envelop the bracket-mounted engine(s) in a protective pouch. Solution-dyed marine fabric (5–7 years) or premium Sunbrella acrylic (8–10 years) preserves your classic platform through continued offshore service or restoration.

The Integrated Bracket Advantage

The 247 Advance’s defining feature is the integrated outboard bracket that moves engine weight aft for improved bow trim and planing. This forward-thinking design created a built-in swim platform with boarding ladder, added usable transom space for fighting fish, and improved engine access for maintenance—features that modern Grady White models incorporate as standard. Combined with the 20° deadrise hull, 151-gallon fuel capacity, and 62 sq ft cockpit with dual bow fishboxes and center livewell, the 247 Advance remains a capable offshore tournament platform.

Engineering & Bracket-Hull Precision Fit

Perfect Fit’s cover engineers custom-measure your 247 Advance’s integrated bracket geometry, swim platform ladder, console width, fishbox drains, livewell ports, and rubrail to create a pattern that wraps seamlessly from bow to bracket. The reinforced stitching and hem cord secure the cover at the rubrail, while adjustable tie-down straps distribute tension evenly across the 8’6″ beam. The aft section extends into a loose, draped pouch that envelops the bracket-mounted engine(s) without binding.
