Choose Your Cover Fabric

7 oz. Polyester — Our entry-level marine cover fabric, woven from 100% polyester fiber at a 7 oz. per linear yard weight. This lighter option keeps the cover manageable for solo handling while still delivering reliable protection against sun, rain, and debris. Backed by a 3-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black.

9 oz. Polyester — Step up to our heavy-duty polyester, engineered at 9 oz. per linear yard for boats that face tougher conditions or extended outdoor storage. The denser weave adds an extra layer of defense against abrasion and weather without adding unnecessary bulk. Protected by a 5-year fabric warranty. Ships in Navy or Black.

Sunbrella® — For boaters who want the best, our Sunbrella covers use 100% solution-dyed acrylic — the same fabric trusted by marine professionals worldwide. Naturally resistant to fading, mold, and water damage, Sunbrella holds its color and integrity season after season. Covered by a 6-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black, Smoke, or Marine Blue.

Both polyester options feature solution-dyed construction, where pigment is infused into each fiber during production rather than applied to the surface afterward. This process locks color deep into the material, preventing any dye transfer to your boat’s gel coat or finish. The result is a cover that stays vibrant without bleeding or rubbing off. Our polyester is also designed to breathe — it allows moisture trapped underneath to vent out naturally, reducing the risk of mildew and keeping your boat dry. The fabric holds its form without sagging or stretching over time, stays lightweight enough for one person to handle, and stands up to prolonged UV exposure and harsh marine weather.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 2200 Tournament is a tournament-specific variant of the 2200 platform that features enhanced livewell systems with higher-capacity aeration pumps, tournament-grade insulated fish boxes instead of standard coolers, premium rod storage solutions optimized for tournament tackle, and forward/aft casting deck layouts engineered for tournament fishing techniques. The standard 2200 T-Top is more family-oriented with comfort features; the 2200 Tournament strips these away and focuses entirely on competitive angling capability. For cover purposes, both versions share the same 22 foot LOA and 8 foot 6 inch beam dimensions, but the Tournament variant has more external hardware that require protective coverage.
Tournament-grade fish boxes are heavily insulated storage compartments with tight-sealing lids, typically featuring ice-cooling or active refrigeration to maintain precise water temperature zones. Tournament rules often require that fish be stored in specific temperature ranges to remain competition-legal. The lids have stainless steel or chrome-plated hardware, drain plugs for ice water management, and hinge systems that are more complex than standard coolers. Exposure to UV rays degrades the insulation foam, salt spray corrodes the metal hardware, and moisture causes rust on hinge pins and latch mechanisms.
Enhanced livewells feature higher-capacity aeration pumps (often 1,500+ GPH vs. standard 800-1,200 GPH), multiple aerator diffusers for more even oxygen distribution, separate baitwell systems with isolated aeration, and larger overall tank volumes (70+ gallons total across all systems). Enhanced livewells often include integrated recirculation systems that pre-cool water before it enters the main live wells, maintaining ideal catch conditions throughout tournament days. A boat cover protects these sophisticated systems by keeping all aerator inlets, vent lines, and overflow drains shaded from UV damage.
Premium rod storage typically includes gunnel-mounted rod holders (6-8 holders distributed along both sides), horizontal rod racks under the hardtop (capable of storing 8-12 rods safely), and often a custom rod locker compartment designed to hold rigged tournament rods in protective sleeves. Rod holders are usually stainless steel or chrome-plated brass with rubber-lined cups. Exposed rod holders corrode when salt spray deposits mineral residue on metal components; rubber liners degrade under UV exposure, losing their cushioning properties. A boat cover keeps the entire rod storage system dry and shaded.
Deadrise is the angle of the hull bottom relative to horizontal—16 degrees means the 2200 Tournament hull bottom rises 16 degrees from the transom to the bow. This shallow-to-moderate deadrise delivers a perfect balance: it provides shallow-water tracking and fuel efficiency for coastal bay tournaments, while maintaining enough V-section for offshore seaway capability during open-water competition events. 16 degrees deadrise is the sweet spot for tournament boats that compete in both bay and offshore circuits.
Yes, 225 HP is substantial power for a 22 foot boat, delivering 10.2 HP per 1,000 lbs (2,100 lbs dry weight)—an excellent power-to-weight ratio. This enables tournament-competitive hole-shot capability (acceleration from standstill to planing), fuel-efficient cruising at tournament-legal speeds (typically 35-45 mph), and sufficient power for challenging offshore conditions.
Tournament casting decks are elevated, non-slip platforms (forward bow deck and aft stern deck) designed to maximize room for anglers to stand while making casts without obstruction. Forward casting decks are typically 8-10 feet long, providing sight-casting platforms for shallow-water bass, inshore redfish, or flats species. Aft decks are 4-6 feet, designed for live-bait casting or bottom-fishing in deeper water. Tournament casting decks feature reinforced fiberglass construction to handle repeated impact from anglers jumping and shifting weight during aggressive casting strokes.
Solution-dyed marine fabric has pigment integrated into the fiber during manufacturing, creating superior UV resistance compared to traditional canvas. For tournament boats carrying expensive tackle, rod rigging, and sensitive electronics, UV protection is critical—direct sunlight degrades line strength, fades tackle paint and adhesive labels, and causes rod blanks to become brittle. Solution-dyed covers block 95%+ of UV rays, protecting not just the boat structure but also any tackle, rods, or equipment stored on or near the boat.
The NauticGuard warranty covers the composite hull structure against manufacturing defects and osmotic blistering—it does not cover boat covers, engines, electronics, or tournament equipment. However, by protecting your hull from UV degradation, direct sun exposure, and rain pooling that causes osmotic pressure buildup, a quality boat cover helps maintain the conditions under which the NauticGuard Warranty remains valid.
If you use your 2200 Tournament year-round, wash and dry the cover thoroughly before seasonal storage. Store any removable sections in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For the main cover, fold it loosely and store it in a breathable storage bag in a garage or covered storage area—never seal it in plastic, as trapped moisture will cause mildew. If you store the boat outdoors for extended periods, keep the cover on to protect tournament equipment and systems.
