Choose Your Cover Fabric

7 oz. Polyester — Our entry-level marine cover fabric, woven from 100% polyester fiber at a 7 oz. per linear yard weight. This lighter option keeps the cover manageable for solo handling while still delivering reliable protection against sun, rain, and debris. Backed by a 3-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black.

9 oz. Polyester — Step up to our heavy-duty polyester, engineered at 9 oz. per linear yard for boats that face tougher conditions or extended outdoor storage. The denser weave adds an extra layer of defense against abrasion and weather without adding unnecessary bulk. Protected by a 5-year fabric warranty. Ships in Navy or Black.

Sunbrella® — For boaters who want the best, our Sunbrella covers use 100% solution-dyed acrylic — the same fabric trusted by marine professionals worldwide. Naturally resistant to fading, mold, and water damage, Sunbrella holds its color and integrity season after season. Covered by a 6-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black, Smoke, or Marine Blue.

Both polyester options feature solution-dyed construction, where pigment is infused into each fiber during production rather than applied to the surface afterward. This process locks color deep into the material, preventing any dye transfer to your boat’s gel coat or finish. The result is a cover that stays vibrant without bleeding or rubbing off. Our polyester is also designed to breathe — it allows moisture trapped underneath to vent out naturally, reducing the risk of mildew and keeping your boat dry. The fabric holds its form without sagging or stretching over time, stays lightweight enough for one person to handle, and stands up to prolonged UV exposure and harsh marine weather.

*The warranty periods above are provided by the fabric manufacturer and cover the material itself. For details on what’s included in the warranty for your completed cover, please see our warranty page.

Yes. The cover drapes over the entire Saltmarsh 1444 creating a tent-like shape that peaks at the center console and slopes down to the gunwales on all sides. The outboard engine is fully enclosed inside the cover, and the fabric conforms to the 1444's compact 58-inch deck width.
Drape the cover over the bow and walk it aft over the center console to the stern. The fabric forms a tent-like peak at the console naturally. Secure it with adjustable tie-down straps and a hem cord at the rubrail. One person can complete installation in under 5 minutes.

Saltmarsh 1444 Center Console Cover — Micro-Skiff Shield for Indian River Lagoon Legends

The Saltmarsh 1444 is a 14-foot micro-skiff that combines jon boat toughness with composite skiff performance. Salt Marsh spun off from Ankona Boats in 2014, carrying forward the shallow-water expertise Ankona established when they founded the brand in 2009 in Fort Pierce, Florida, right on the Indian River Lagoon. The 1444 features a Kevlar-reinforced bottom, a beam of roughly 4’10”, and a maximum of 20 horsepower — all at around 300 pounds dry weight. With a 6-gallon portable fuel tank, 5-inch draft, and a deck width of 58 inches, this is a purpose-built skinny-water machine. A custom center console cover from Saltmarsh boat covers keeps that Kevlar-reinforced hull and everything on it protected from the Florida sun and salt air.

Tailored to the 1444’s Compact Micro-Skiff Deck

This cover is pattern-cut to the Saltmarsh 1444’s 14-foot hull and 58-inch deck width. The solution-dyed marine fabric drapes over the entire boat, creating a tent-like shape that peaks at the center console and slopes down to the gunwales on all sides. The outboard engine is fully enclosed inside the cover. Installation is quick and simple — drape the cover from bow to stern over the console, then secure it with adjustable tie-down straps and a hem cord at the rubrail. One person handles it in under five minutes. The reinforced construction is rated for highway trailering speeds, and the 1444’s ultra-light 300-pound hull makes it one of the easiest boats to tow with cover on. For another technical flats skiff cover with the same tent-like fit, the East Cape 17 Caimen cover protects a slightly larger vacuum-infused hull with the same precision approach.

Protection That Matches Saltmarsh Quality

Saltmarsh and Ankona build skiffs with Kevlar-reinforced bottoms designed to take a beating on oyster bars and shallow flats — your cover should deliver that same durability topside. The 9oz solution-dyed marine fabric offers 5 to 7 years of UV and weather resistance, while premium Sunbrella acrylic extends that to 8 to 10 years with outstanding fade resistance. Both options are water-repellent, mildew-resistant, and breathable to keep trapped moisture from settling on electronics and upholstery. Double-stitched seams and reinforced stress points hold up through years of trailering and storage. Every cover includes a 2-year manufacturer warranty. Micro-skiff owners protecting similar shallow-water machines will find the same custom-fitted quality in the Skull Island 16 cover, built for another ultra-lightweight tactical flats skiff.
