The Key West 196 Bay Reef is a 19-foot inshore bay boat with an 8-foot beam and a dry weight around 1,800 pounds. Powered by a single outboard between 115 and 200 horsepower with 40 to 60 gallons of fuel capacity, this modified-V hull features approximately 19 degrees of deadrise and Key West’s no-wood fiberglass stringer system. Produced until approximately 2011 and later replaced by the 210 Bay Reef, the 196 earned a loyal following among inshore anglers for its roomy casting deck, dual livewell setup, and ability to handle both sheltered bays and moderate chop on coastal runs.
