No — Key West produced the 246 Bay Reef from approximately 2008 through 2018. It was replaced by the 250 Bay Reef, which features an updated design. Our cover continues to protect every 246 model year.
The 246 Bay Reef supports a single outboard up to 300 horsepower. Our cover fully encloses the engine as part of the continuous fabric drape past the transom, regardless of which outboard is mounted.
The 250 Bay Reef is approximately one foot longer than the 246 it replaced, with updated features and deck layout. Each model requires its own pattern-cut cover — they are not interchangeable due to differences in length, beam, and hull contours.
We offer two marine-grade fabrics: our heavy-duty 9oz solution-dyed polyester (the most popular choice for durability and colorfastness) and premium Sunbrella acrylic canvas (lighter weight with exceptional UV resistance and breathability). Both resist mold, mildew, and fading.
One person can manage it in about 25 minutes, but the 246's 24-foot length and wide beam make installation easier with two people. Drape from bow to stern, then secure using the included hem cord and tie-down straps.
The fuel system is entirely below deck and does not affect cover fit. The cover wraps around the exterior hull contours only. The 246's 2,400-pound dry weight means it sits solidly on its trailer or lift, providing a stable platform for cover installation.

The Key West 246 Bay Reef is a 24-foot inshore bay boat with an 8-foot-5-inch to 8-foot-6-inch beam and a dry weight around 2,400 pounds. Powered by a single outboard up to 300 horsepower with 80 gallons of fuel capacity, this modified-V hull features approximately 19 degrees of deadrise and Key West’s fiberglass stringer construction. Produced from approximately 2008 through 2018 and later replaced by the 250 Bay Reef, the 246 BR was the flagship of the Bay Reef line — offering tournament-level livewell capacity, expansive deck space, and enough range for full-day runs across the coastal flats and bays.
Our custom-fitted mooring cover wraps the entire 246 Bay Reef as one continuous piece of marine-grade fabric. The cover rises over the center console, follows a smooth, gradual slope toward the stern, and extends past the transom to fully enclose the outboard engine with a natural, slightly loose drape.
