Choose Your Cover Fabric

7 oz. Polyester — Our entry-level marine cover fabric, woven from 100% polyester fiber at a 7 oz. per linear yard weight. This lighter option keeps the cover manageable for solo handling while still delivering reliable protection against sun, rain, and debris. Backed by a 3-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black.

9 oz. Polyester — Step up to our heavy-duty polyester, engineered at 9 oz. per linear yard for boats that face tougher conditions or extended outdoor storage. The denser weave adds an extra layer of defense against abrasion and weather without adding unnecessary bulk. Protected by a 5-year fabric warranty. Ships in Navy or Black.

Sunbrella® — For boaters who want the best, our Sunbrella covers use 100% solution-dyed acrylic — the same fabric trusted by marine professionals worldwide. Naturally resistant to fading, mold, and water damage, Sunbrella holds its color and integrity season after season. Covered by a 6-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black, Smoke, or Marine Blue.

Both polyester options feature solution-dyed construction, where pigment is infused into each fiber during production rather than applied to the surface afterward. This process locks color deep into the material, preventing any dye transfer to your boat’s gel coat or finish. The result is a cover that stays vibrant without bleeding or rubbing off. Our polyester is also designed to breathe — it allows moisture trapped underneath to vent out naturally, reducing the risk of mildew and keeping your boat dry. The fabric holds its form without sagging or stretching over time, stays lightweight enough for one person to handle, and stands up to prolonged UV exposure and harsh marine weather.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 188 LE is a special-run variant of EdgeWater's 188 platform with the same 18'8" length but featuring the wider 7'9" beam and specific equipment configurations that distinguish it from the standard 188CC. The LE designation typically indicates enhanced standard features, premium finishes, or limited production runs that make each hull more exclusive.
Both share the same 18'8" length, 7'9" beam, 150 HP max, and 2,050 lbs dry weight. The LE variant features different standard equipment and trim packages. From a cover perspective, the hull dimensions are identical — both use the same 188-platform pattern. The key difference is in factory-installed accessories that may affect cover fit, which is why we ask about specific equipment during ordering.
Yes. The cover wraps the entire boat from bow to stern as one continuous piece. Fabric extends past the transom and drapes over the engine cowling. Only the lower unit and propeller remain visible below. No separate engine cover or boot needed.
Yes. The 188 LE and standard 188CC share the widest beam in the Heritage CC lineup at 7'9" — 5 inches wider than the 185's 7'4" and 6 inches wider than the 170 and 175 at 7'3". That extra beam delivers noticeably better stability at rest, more cockpit space, and a more confident ride in chop. It also means a slightly wider cover pattern than any other Heritage CC.
The wider 7'9" beam gives the 188 LE the best initial stability of any Heritage CC, and the SPI hull handles chop with confidence. At 150 HP, it has plenty of power to punch through head seas. This is the Heritage model most owners feel comfortable taking nearshore on moderate weather days — out to reefs, wrecks, and structure within 5–10 miles of the inlet.
The 188 LE comes equipped with a livewell, multiple rod holders, under-gunwale rod storage, a center console with storage compartments, and a self-bailing cockpit. The 43-gallon fuel tank provides solid range at 150 HP. The wide 7'9" beam creates a cockpit that comfortably accommodates 3–4 anglers fishing simultaneously with room to move.
The 188 LE was a limited-production variant and is no longer in active production. Our cover patterns are maintained for all EdgeWater models regardless of production status — your LE gets the same custom-fit quality as any current-year model.
At 2,050 lbs dry (roughly 3,000–3,200 lbs loaded on trailer), the 188 LE tows comfortably behind most full-size pickups, full-size SUVs, and capable midsize trucks. The 7'9" beam fits standard 8-foot garage doors but with tighter clearance than narrower Heritage models — measure your garage before assuming it fits.
Rinse with fresh water after every saltwater outing or every two weeks during storage. Full soap wash twice per season. Inspect tie-down straps and attachment points monthly. Check for chafing at hardware contact points. The wider beam means more fabric surface area — pay extra attention to the widest sections where wind stress is highest.
For year-round outdoor storage in saltwater environments, Sunbrella acrylic at 8–10 years is the smart investment. For seasonal use or milder climates, standard 9oz solution-dyed fabric at 5–7 years provides excellent value. At 18'8", the cover is large enough that fabric longevity matters — replacing a bigger cover costs more, so longer-lasting fabric saves money over time.

EdgeWater 188 LE Center Console Boat Cover

The EdgeWater 188 LE (Limited Edition) brings the widest beam in the Heritage lineup — 7’9” across 18’8” of SPI vacuum-infused hull with 150 HP and a 43-gallon fuel tank. At 2,050 lbs dry, the 188 LE delivers the stability and cockpit space of a bigger boat while maintaining the trailering ease that defines the Heritage series. The LE designation marks enhanced standard equipment and premium finishes on the same one-piece, foam-filled, unsinkable hull platform that defines every EdgeWater.

A Perfect Fit center console cover wraps the entire 188 LE — hull, console, cockpit, and 150 HP outboard — in UV-resistant solution-dyed marine fabric. The wider 7’9” beam means a larger cover footprint than narrower Heritage models, with proportionally wider tie-down spacing for secure all-weather protection.

Limited Edition, Full Protection

A Limited Edition boat deserves protection that matches its exclusivity. Between fishing trips, UV, salt, and weather attack every surface — the premium finishes that make the LE special are also the first things to show wear without proper cover protection. Our center console cover keeps every surface in showroom condition season after season. Browse our boat shade collection for on-water sun protection, or check the EdgeWater 188 center console cover for the standard variant. For larger EdgeWater platforms, see the EdgeWater 262 T-Top cover.
