7 oz. Polyester — Our entry-level marine cover fabric, woven from 100% polyester fiber at a 7 oz. per linear yard weight. This lighter option keeps the cover manageable for solo handling while still delivering reliable protection against sun, rain, and debris. Backed by a 3-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black.
9 oz. Polyester — Step up to our heavy-duty polyester, engineered at 9 oz. per linear yard for boats that face tougher conditions or extended outdoor storage. The denser weave adds an extra layer of defense against abrasion and weather without adding unnecessary bulk. Protected by a 5-year fabric warranty. Ships in Navy or Black.
Sunbrella® — For boaters who want the best, our Sunbrella covers use 100% solution-dyed acrylic — the same fabric trusted by marine professionals worldwide. Naturally resistant to fading, mold, and water damage, Sunbrella holds its color and integrity season after season. Covered by a 6-year fabric warranty. Ships in Black, Smoke, or Marine Blue.
Both polyester options feature solution-dyed construction, where pigment is infused into each fiber during production rather than applied to the surface afterward. This process locks color deep into the material, preventing any dye transfer to your boat’s gel coat or finish. The result is a cover that stays vibrant without bleeding or rubbing off. Our polyester is also designed to breathe — it allows moisture trapped underneath to vent out naturally, reducing the risk of mildew and keeping your boat dry. The fabric holds its form without sagging or stretching over time, stays lightweight enough for one person to handle, and stands up to prolonged UV exposure and harsh marine weather.
*The warranty periods above are provided by the fabric manufacturer and cover the material itself. For details on what’s included in the warranty for your completed cover, please see our warranty page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — this cover is pattern-cut specifically for the Key West 176 Bay Reef hull with a T-Top. It wraps the hull below the hardtop, with fitted cutouts for the T-Top support legs so the hardtop stays exposed above.
No. The cover is designed to work with the T-Top in place. The T-Top's support legs pass through fitted cutouts in the fabric. You never need to remove the hardtop.
The cover wraps everything below the T-Top — the center console, helm electronics, seating, gunwales, and outboard engine. The T-Top hardtop itself remains exposed above the cover and is not covered.
Two options: our heavy-duty 9oz solution-dyed polyester (the most popular choice for its durability and value) or premium Sunbrella acrylic canvas (the best option for maximum UV resistance and breathability). Both are solution-dyed for permanent colorfastness.
Yes. The cover extends past the transom and fully encloses the outboard engine. There's no separate engine cover — the main cover slopes down from the T-Top frame and wraps around the motor.
Yes. The T-Top cover is designed for use on boat lifts, at the dock, and in dry storage. The adjustable tie-down straps keep the cover secure in wind.
About 15 minutes with one person. The 176 Bay Reef's compact size makes installation quick. Thread the T-Top legs through the cutouts, drape from bow to stern, cinch the hem cord, and secure the straps.
No — the 176 Bay Reef has been discontinued. However, our cover is still manufactured to fit its specific hull dimensions. We continue producing covers for discontinued models.
The T-Top cover slopes downward from the hardtop frame like a tent, which naturally sheds rain to both sides. The peaked shape prevents pooling better than flat covers.
The cover is available in Navy, Black, and Charcoal. All three colors are solution-dyed for permanent colorfastness.
Key West 176 Bay Reef T-Top Cover — Custom Protection Below the Hardtop
The Key West 176 Bay Reef is a nimble 17-foot bay boat built for skinny-water fishing, and this custom-fitted T-Top cover protects everything below the hardtop. At roughly 17 feet 7 inches long with a 7-foot-4-inch beam and around 1,400 pounds dry, the 176 Bay Reef is compact enough for tight creeks and shallow flats. Our cover wraps the entire hull below the T-Top structure — the center console, gunwales, seating, and outboard engine — while leaving the fiberglass hardtop fully exposed above.
The T-Top’s support legs pass through fitted cutouts in the cover fabric, creating a clean transition between the covered hull and the exposed hardtop. The cover slopes downward from the T-Top frame like a tent, draping smoothly to the bow and stern. At the stern, the fabric extends past the transom to fully enclose the outboard engine. A hem cord cinches along the rubrail while the bottom edge reaches nearly to the waterline, leaving only a thin strip of hull exposed below.
Marine-Grade Fabric Built for Bay Boats
Bay boats like the 176 Bay Reef spend their lives in harsh salt, sun, and humidity. Choose our heavy-duty 9oz solution-dyed polyester — the most popular option for its rugged durability and colorfastness — or upgrade to premium Sunbrella acrylic canvas for the best UV resistance and breathability available. Both fabrics are solution-dyed through the entire fiber, so color stays locked in permanently through years of sun, salt, and weather exposure.
Quick One-Person Installation
Installation takes about 15 minutes with one person. The 176 Bay Reef’s compact 17-foot length and narrow 7-foot beam make it one of the fastest T-Top boats to cover. Thread the T-Top legs through the fitted cutouts, drape the cover from bow to stern, then secure with the included hem cord and adjustable tie-down straps.
