The 265's 9'6" beam is 3 inches wider than the 262's 9'3", providing noticeably more cockpit width and stability in beam seas. This wider platform translates to a more stable fishing platform when drifting or anchored, and more room for multiple anglers to fish simultaneously.
The 265's 30" cockpit depth means higher freeboard — the cover wraps deeper into the boat's interior than on shallower-cockpit models. Our pattern accounts for this depth, ensuring the fabric reaches the cockpit sole and protects all hardware, storage lids, and surfaces down to the self-bailing floor.
The fuel tank is internal to the hull and has no impact on cover fit. However, a full 200-gallon tank adds approximately 1,400 lbs to the boat's weight. If storing on a dock lift, ensure your lift is rated for the 265's loaded weight. The cover works identically regardless of fuel level.
The 265 offers twin 25" or 27" transom height options for different outboard configurations. Our cover pattern accommodates both transom heights, ensuring complete coverage of the engine cowlings and transom hardware regardless of which configuration your 265 uses.
The 265's deep-V hull with 21" draft slices through ocean chop rather than pounding over it, delivering a drier and more comfortable ride in head seas, beam seas, and following seas. Two people are recommended for the 265 — the 9'6" beam makes it difficult for a solo installer to reach across the full width. Installation takes 12–15 minutes with two people, primarily due to the wider beam requiring more tie-down strap adjustments on each side.
T-Top-mounted accessories like rocket launchers, outrigger bases, and LED light bars sit above the hardtop and remain exposed above the cover. The cover wraps everything below the T-Top hardtop, including any below-hardtop accessories.
Every Perfect Fit cover includes our standard fabric warranty: 5–7 years for solution-dyed marine fabric, 8–10 years for Sunbrella acrylic. For offshore boats stored in high-UV, high-salt environments, we recommend the Sunbrella option for maximum longevity.
